Improve Conversion Rates with Sticky Call to Actions

I’m a big fan of a sticky call to actions, as long as its used well of course.

A sticky CTA is one that follows you down the screen, so no matter how much of a page you decide to read, you can always see that button asking you to sign up, or add to basket. No need to scroll back, no worries about missing it or getting lost.

So if you run an ecommerce site, and you give a detailed product description, go into all the benefits of your products, why people should buy them, give them detailed size guidance so they don’t have to worry about if it fits or not, show off all your reviews, when the customer is finally ready, they just need to hit the ‘Add to basket’ button.

Why leave it up to the customer to do the work, scroll back up the page to find the button, when it could be in their face the whole time (and no i don’t recommend having it take up a huge amount of the screen). A properly designed call to action can be nicely tucked away in a corner, but standing out like the beacons of Gondor.
